The founder, Tim Lindberg, is committed to providing exceptional service and a superior product. It was through his extensive background in the construction industry that he realized there was a need for a new type of decorative concrete. Time and again property owners became unsatisfied with the peeling and flaking of coatings and overlays. Their stamped patterns came out looking too repetitive and unnatural. They were overwhelmed by the price and the sinking effects of real stones or pavers.
Therefore Tim decided to invest in a process that solves these common problems. The process is engraving and acid staining. It is as durable as the original concrete, because the textured pattern is engraved in. Therefore nothing is on top to flake off. The color reacts chemically as it soaks in and is similar to the oxidation process that occurs to real stone in the natural environment.
Other companies have tried to compete with Tim's unique approach, but haven't been able to match the authentic look of his stonework or color effects. By traveling from the California coast and colonial New England to the country sides of Italy, Tim's artisanship has been perfected to reflect the very stones and home styles of his travels. Combining that with extensive training, research, and his own innovations to improve the engraving and staining process Tim started Capstone Concrete.
